The new 4,700-seat Arena at the University of Idaho is a state-of-the-art venue designed to be the home for Vandals men’s and women’s basketball teams, while also serving as a dynamic gathering place for a variety of student events, including concerts, academic conferences, and more. Located on the north side of the Kibbie Dome, the Arena has quickly become a source of excitement, rallying fans and boosting recruiting efforts, while positioning the University’s athletic facilities on par with other Division I universities.

As a multi-purpose sports and event facility, the Arena provides a vibrant, intimate atmosphere for fans. It includes the main basketball court, a practice court, men’s and women’s locker rooms, coaching and staff offices, conference space, suites, concessions, and a media room, making it a hub for both athletics and student engagement.

The Arena’s design also emphasizes innovation and sustainability, as it is the first signature wood facility of its size in the state. Thanks to a competitive Wood Innovation Grant, timber and mass timber construction are central to the project, offering a unique architectural element that reflects Idaho’s heritage.

Beyond its role as a home for Vandals athletics, the Arena serves as a learning laboratory for students in fields like forestry and engineering. It stands as a showpiece for the University, creating a lasting space for student-athletes, fans, and generations of Vandals to come together.
