The Saint Louis University Champions Center is a state-of-the-art facility designed to elevate the student-athlete experience and celebrate the Billiken legacy of excellence. Purposefully integrated with the Chaifetz Arena complex, the Champions Center fosters community, supports holistic athlete development, and serves as a hub for recruitment, training, learning, and performance.

The L-shaped building connects to the Arena on both the concourse and event levels, significantly expanding the basketball program’s footprint. A bright, two-story lobby creates a welcoming arrival point for fans, recruits, donors, and campus visitors. At the concourse level, a new operations center connects to the Arena via an open bridge and includes advanced staff offices and meeting rooms equipped with integrated technology for film review, strategy sessions, and game planning. Dedicated head coaches’ offices offer a private, comfortable environment for one-on-one film review and recruitment meetings.

At the event level, a tiered classroom with modern AV capabilities enhances communication between coaches and players. The entry level houses key student-focused amenities, including the Student Success Center, a non-denominational sanctuary, study and interview rooms, and recruiting offices. A centrally located Fueling Station and Athlete Dining Hall supports physical performance and academic success through personalized nutrition.

Throughout the facility, interior branding and storytelling graphics honor the Billiken tradition and inspire excellence. While the existing Practice Pavilion—featuring a two-court practice gym and a three-story support building—connects to the Arena on the west, neither it nor the Champions Center connect to the Arena at the entry level. Together, these facilities form a high-performance campus that supports SLU athletes in their pursuit of success both on and off the court.
