The RP Funding Center Renovation is a comprehensive upgrade to the RP Funding Center (RPFC), formerly known as the Lakeland Center. Originally built in 1974, the facility includes Jenkins Arena, Sikes Hall, and Youkey Theater, with expansions such as the Exhibit Hall, Box Office, Administration Building, and Lake Hunter addition completed in 1996. As a central hub for arts, entertainment, and community events, the RPFC continues to serve as a vital part of Lakeland’s cultural identity.

To support the Lakeland Magic’s inaugural basketball season, the renovation follows a fast-tracked, two-phase approach. The first phase introduces dedicated office space for the team, professionally upgraded locker rooms, and advanced audio-visual enhancements within Jenkins Arena. These improvements not only accommodate the operational needs of a professional sports team but also elevate the overall event experience and enable high-quality national broadcasts.

In addition to performance and operational upgrades, the project modernizes the facility’s public restrooms with extensive ADA renovations. These improvements bring the building into alignment with current accessibility standards and enhance comfort and inclusivity for all visitors. The ongoing renovation ensures the RPFC remains a flexible, welcoming venue capable of hosting a diverse range of programming while honoring its longstanding role in the Lakeland community.
