The Jekyll Island Convention Center is a new facility designed to offer exceptional flexibility for event organizers while enhancing the guest experience. The center will accommodate larger groups and attract events previously unable to be hosted in the old convention center. A sloping zinc-coated metal roof over the pre-function area helps reduce the visual impact of the exhibit hall/ballroom, while generous glazing offers views of the beach and marsh areas. Clearstory windows allow natural daylight into the main pre-function corridor, further enhancing the building's connection to its coastal surroundings. The convention center's design draws inspiration from the beach-front context, with roof forms reflecting the natural tree shapes, providing shelter, and creating inviting outdoor terraces for visitors to enjoy the views and coastal breezes.

Sustainability is a key feature of the project, with rainwater harvesting systems and strategically placed solar panels designed to provide water heating, electricity, and landscape irrigation. The convention center is also designed to meet LEED Certification standards, emphasizing energy efficiency and eco-friendly practices. The facility’s design and location will not only enhance the overall guest experience but also ensure it serves as a sustainable and long-term asset for the Jekyll Island community.
