A 20,580-square-foot comprehensive cancer center was designed in partnership with long-time healthcare developer Optimal Outcomes, LLC for another successful project with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute. The facility’s dramatic tower element with a sloped roof and clean lines provides a modern feel against the wetlands backdrop off Colonial Center Drive in Fort Myers, FL. The soothing and calm interiors create a healing environment for patients and their families. Large panoramic windows in the infusion and sub-wait areas bring in natural light and offer views of nature.

Evidence-Based Design (EBD) principles and best practices were employed throughout the planning, design, and construction phases of the project. As a result, the state-of-the-art facility now offers Lee County patients a center that improves quality of care by providing convenience and an efficient layout designed to enhance overall patient and provider outcomes—helping to reduce patient stress and support the healing process.

Colonial Cancer Center includes 18 medical oncology exam rooms, hematology services, a clinical research lab, a "Pharmacy Rx To Go" area, 51 infusion chairs, mobile PET/CT access, nutritional education, financial counseling, and training room spaces.
