FWISD Teaching and Learning Center

Teaching and Learning Center serves as a unified space for staff offices, classrooms, and an expansive training facility for principals and assistant principals. Coming from a repurposed large-scale food store, the layout includes first-floor perimeter offices, a mezzanine office space above smaller classrooms, and standard-sized classrooms equipped with flexible furniture layouts, advanced audio/visual gear, and distance learning capabilities. At the heart of the center is a divisible training room accommodating 766 people, offering diverse seating and presentation options, complemented by full A/V capabilities that can be combined into a large meeting space. Emphasizing a vibrant and invigorating environment for teacher training, the project incorporates innovative design, new furniture, and state-of-the-art technology, fostering collaboration and breakout spaces for both groups and individuals. Notably, the exterior front facade underwent a substantial redesign, shedding its grocery store identity to embrace a new, distinctive image for Fort Worth ISD.
