Louisiana Sheriff's Association
The headquarters of the Louisiana Sheriff’s Association, completed in 2012, offer a unifying space for law enforcement leaders statewide. As such, the building’s architectural character had to reflect integrity and civic commitment. Grace Hebert Curtis Architects accomplished this design goal by creating a durable, modern facade that incorporates glass, metal panels and textured concrete block — communicating both strength and transparency.
Effective and efficient arrangement of the interior spaces was key to supporting the organization’s mission and activities. Reception and pre-function areas were placed adjacent to shared meeting spaces, while private offices support the delivery of first-rate services to association members. Offices and workspaces take advantage of natural light filtered through the continuous curtain wall, while sunscreens prevent excessive heat gain and glare.
Project Size: 14,700 square feet
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
A Unified Approach
Replicating the architectural character of the exterior, interior spaces are accentuated by timeless materials and contemporary tones. The vertical circulation extends to the second level gathering and balcony area, affording occupants and visitors access to iconic views. The spacious and welcoming lobby also doubles as a multipurpose gathering space.

The Conference Room’s flexible audience seating and raised platform support multiple meeting formats. Varied ceiling treatments contain state-of-the-art integrated technology and lighting that are controlled from a remote booth.
