Meacham International Airport Terminal
The Meacham Terminal Building Renovation and Additions was a renovation of the existing 1965-era terminal building into Class A office space for multiple tenants. The project included the addition of a 23,000 SF third story to the existing 60,000 SF, two-story/full basement building. To expand the leasable floor area, two sides of the building basement were excavated to add windows and a sub-grade garden, transforming a dark basement into sun lighted workspace.
General improvements included a new entry plaza, entry canopies on each side of the building, parking enhancements. Covered parking canopies, new ramp area, new equipment building for Flight Based Operations service vehicles, security fencing and new heating and air-conditioning equipment were also included. The entire building is glazed in VIEW Glass, where the dimming of the glass is controlled by a computer programmed to darken the glass as the sun travels across the sky.
