Fort Myers Regional Library
Fort Myers Regional Library is a new, multiple award-winning community asset that excels not only as a world-class library but also as a civic destination offering programs and services vital to all community members. Embracing the downtown theme of History, Art, and Culture, the library acts as an eastern anchor for the area, creating a welcoming gateway for residents entering from the east. The library's modern, urban design and public space provide an opportunity to educate the public on the benefits of urban-focused development, including denser connections to services and activities and enhanced access to various modes of transportation.
The Library’s multi-faceted mission is supported by good planning, strong amenities, and popular programs. It provides patrons with state-of-the-art library services including automated material handling, expanded AV collections, a regional genealogy center, and a café. The outdoor plaza areas offer access to free Wi-Fi, a variety of seating options, open green space, a shaded amphitheater, and a water feature with art sculpture. The facility earned LEED silver certification for ‘green’ design, construction, operations and management practices.
