The elementary school for grades Pre-K through 8th features traditional classrooms and flexible teaching spaces that are used to enhance the learning environment for students. These flexible spaces are used for student collaboration, group leaning, and gathering. Classrooms are lined with large window that allow natural daylight to fill the space. Direct access to the gymnasium, commons areas, media center and music room allowed for shared community use throughout the school. The 110,000 sf elementary school in the New Orleans East area serves 788 students. The project achieves LEED Silver certification under LEED 2009 for Schools New Construction and Major Renovations.
